Description

The ER collet has 16 slots to make it elastic, while both the collet and the lock nut have 16 degrees of taper. During operation, the taper causes the ER collet to undergo elastic deformation through compression, thereby narrowing the clamping aperture and securely clamping the tool.

Regarding the material, it is necessary to choose the collet with suitable hardness according to the processing technology. For instance, when dealing with hard materials, a collet made of 42CrMo with higher hardness should be chosen; for normal hardness requirements, spring steel can be utilized.
